‘Indian Tales of the Canadian Prairies’ is a collection of First Nations legends and historical events set during Canada‘s brief and turbulent Wild West. Stories of daring warriors and forgotten battles, these tales were penned by Scots-Cree frontiersman James Francis Sanderson and published as a series by the Medicine Hat News in 1894. They were republished in 1965 by the Alberta Historical Review and the Historical Society of Alberta. This book, annotated by Hammerson Peters in 2019, constitutes the fourth publication of Sanderson’s work.
